NaNoWriMo 2011 redux

I have not gotten nearly as much writing done this month as I could have/wanted to. On the other hand, I have written at least something almost every day, and gotten a system set up to make it easier for me to continue writing. Even better, I've got a couple people *expecting* me to be writing again, which is always the best incentive for me to keep going. I can come up with stories all day long in my head, but the effort of writing it down, and then trying to make that writing *better*, requires some interest from someone other than me... and I have that. Thank you!

A few last end-of-day word totals posted here until the end of the month.

11/26-28 - stayed at just 5458, bad me. I have reasons... but really just excuses.
11/29 - 5727
11/30 - 5887 words written in total for NaNoWriMo 2011

I only managed a tenth of the standard NaNo goal, and only a third of *my* original goal for the month. On the other hand, I've gotten further into actually writing Eli's story (as opposed to just plotting) than I ever have before, so I pleased with that. I also do have a much clearer plot and character arcs for the Elemental Magician than I did for Strong Heart, so I think I can keep this pace up. Gentle nudges and encouragement are always welcome, though. Readers and comments are both carrot and stick for me Eye-wink

*grin* Thanks. The plan is to focus solely on writing The Elemental Magician until mid-December, and only over the holidays let myself get distracted by writing and editing. The goal is to build a big buffer of posts before launching the story in Jan/Feb.

I also have a completed short story from several years ago that I recently unearthed and realized I don't hate, so I may clean that up and post it in two or three parts at some point in early 2012, too.
